FIDE embarked on its journey into esports by applying for membership with the Global Esports Federation on September 29th. Their mission revolves around embracing chess formats, online training techniques, competitive events and fostering a sense of community among chess enthusiasts worldwide.
this year chess achieved a momentous victory, on the international stage when it featured prominently in the 2023 Olympic Esports Series.The chess competition witnessed a turnout of 42,000 participants, from 219 countries during the qualifying stages.
