Vodafone Idea and Team Vitality Forge a Pioneering Partnership to Elevate Esports in India

In an innovative partnership Vodafone Idea (Vi) a known telecommunications company, in India has teamed up with Team Vitality, a renowned esports organization based in Paris. Together they aim to take the esports industry in India to heights. According to the State of India Gaming Report for 2022 the Indian esports sector is expected to reach USD 140 million by 2027 solidifying its position as a mainstream sport.
This strategic alliance between Vi and Team Vitality covers aspects such as brand sponsorship, content collaborations, gaming events and unique experiences on a scale. Vi customers will now have access to Team Vitality tournaments and teams allowing them to actively participate in the world of esports. The collaboration aims to nurture esports talent across the nation by providing opportunities like player interactions, master classes, meet and greets and much more.
Vi has already established itself as a player in the mobile gaming segment by offering a range of hyper casual mobile games through Vi Games on the Vi App. With this partnership with Team Vitality Vi intends to invest in the growth of esports in India. They have previously organized to play tournaments for games like Call of Duty; Mobile, Free Fire Max, Asphalt 9 and Clash Royale as part of their foray, into the esports domain.
Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer of Vi highlighted the companys focus on gaming. He emphasized their commitment to continuously enhancing their gaming portfolio through partnerships and relevant offerings. Recognizing the growing popularity of esports among audiences Vi Games is naturally expanding its efforts, in this space.
Expressing enthusiasm about the collaboration, Randall Fernandez, Managing Director of Team Vitality India shared his excitement for the partnership. He believes that technology will play a role in taking gaming to heights and eagerly anticipates the journey ahead with Vi. Together they aim to explore opportunities discover emerging gaming talents across the nation set industry standards and leave a lasting impact on the esports community.
Team Vitality recently gained attention when their all Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM) team successfully qualified for and competed in the CODM World Championship 2023 held in Atlanta, US. The organization has also brought on board gaming content creators such, as Nischay ‘Live Insaan’ Malhan Rachit ‘Rachitroo’ Yadav, Nitin ‘Classified YT’ Chougale, Shagufta ‘Xyaa’ Iqbal and Pratik ‘Aurum’ Mehra. Combined together these creators have amassed a YouTube following of 20 million subscribers.
