Borders College unveils a groundbreaking Esports studio, the first of its kind in the region, marking a significant milestone for education and the gaming industry.

Borders College has proudly inaugurated its cutting edge Esports studio becoming the first of its kind, in the region. The launch event, attended by figures from Scotlands games industry and education sector witnessed Esports Scotland CEO James Hood and Borders College Principal Pete Smith officially unveil this state of the art facility.

Located at the Scottish Borders Campus, the Esports studio aims to provide students with an one of a kind learning experience. Equipped with 18 high performance gaming PCs, gaming consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation gaming furniture and top notch equipment this facility offers an exceptional environment. Additionally there is a room exclusively designed for Esports activities. The studio is equipped with screens and a tracking webcam that enables learning opportunities for students.

James Hood, CEO of Esports Scotland expressed his pride in opening Borders Colleges Esports studio while highlighting its dedication to providing hands on learning experiences in a setting. He commended the facility for its ability to accommodate Esports disciplines, games and creative technology organizations.

During the launch event attendees including staff members, guests from organizations or industry professionals were given the opportunity to explore the facility firsthand. They also witnessed demonstrations, by the cohort of Esports students.
The studio serves purposes. It acts as a space, for education. Also hosts Esports, gaming and creative technology organizations.

Pete Smith, the Principal of Borders College expressed his excitement about the established Esports facility. He described it as a milestone for both the college and the Esports and gaming industry in Scotland. Smith emphasized the opportunities that this studio would provide to students, partners and the wider gaming community.

Apart from launching the Esports studio Borders College is engaged in discussions with schools to offer Esports sessions on campus well as remotely. This initiative aligns with their commitment to offer an inclusive approach towards Esports education.
