Andrew Kim Joins Esports Legal News as News Associate

We are excited to welcome Andrew Kim to the Esports Legal News team as our newest news associate.
Andrew Kim is a JD candidate at Brooklyn Law School and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist. Before starting law school, he spent over ten years working in highly regulated industries, from craft spirits and consumer lending to state lottery operations, where he built a reputation for navigating complex rules and regulatory frameworks.
Originally from Brooklyn, NY and a proud University of Michigan alum, Andrew holds a degree in Sport Management. He’s always been drawn to the people and stories behind both traditional and digital sports, and that same curiosity now drives his interest in the legal issues shaping competitive gaming. His focus areas include integrity in esports, compliance, and responsible play.
Most recently, Andrew moderated a CLE panel on AI and cybersecurity in emerging tech. He also spent last summer at the US Securities and Exchange Commission, where he got a front-row seat to how global regulators are thinking about digital assets. That experience deepened his interest in how law and innovation can work together in fast-moving sectors like gaming.
Outside of law, Andrew loves to travel and supports local artists whenever he can. He brings a thoughtful, well-rounded perspective to our coverage, and we cannot wait to share his work with you.
Follow along as Andrew explores the evolving world of esports law and helps make sense of the legal shifts happening in competitive gaming today. Welcome to the team, Andrew.
