FIA Motorsport Games 2024: Expanded Esports Program and New FIA Formula 4 Category Take Center Stage

Exciting news, for racing enthusiasts! Get ready for the anticipated edition of the FIA Motorsport Games taking place in Valencia, Spain from October 23 27 2024. This years event will feature a thrilling Esports program with two gold medals up for grabs in two exciting gaming titles.

The Esports GT racers will be competing fiercely on the Assetto Corsa Competizione game. The races will be longer this time around. Include mandatory pit stops. Additionally there will be a competition showcasing FIA Formula 4 racing on iRacing offering adrenaline packed sprint races.

The stunning City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia will provide a backdrop for these Esports competitions. With 24 simulators equipped with top level hardware drivers from over 100 nations representing their FIA National Sporting Authorities (ASN) are expected to battle it out for victory.

Managed by AK Esports the competition will follow a format to that of 2022. It includes General Qualifying, Quarter Finals Last Chance races, Semi Finals. Ultimately culminating in the gold medal Final, across both Esports categories. All participants must be 16 years old and possess a valid ITD1 license from their respective ASN.
The inclusion of the FIA Formula 4 Esports race is expected to increase the number of participants, in Valencia. Additionally there will be a 20% reduction in the entry fee to €800 per driver for both categories aiming to make the FIA Motorsport Games more accessible and attract a range of competitors.

Niroshan Pereira, President of the FIA Esports Commission expressed excitement about this expansion. Remarked, “The Esports F4 Category with iRacing is bound to be a success providing ASNs and their selected Esports representatives with even more opportunities to shine and compete for medals.”

For the Esports GT Category they will continue to utilize the Assetto Corsa Competizione title that sim racing enthusiasts adore. Marco Massarutto, co founder and Executive Manager of Kunos Simulazioni (the developer behind Assetto Corsa Competizione) expressed gratitude for their collaboration. Emphasized their dedication to delivering a racing experience.

Tony Gardner, President of iRacing also shared his enthusiasm by stating, “iRacing is thrilled to be partaking in the festivities at the FIA Motorsport Games in 2024.”

Entries, for the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games are set to open at the end of February. Competitors who are eager to represent their country are encouraged to reach out to their FIA National Sporting Authority (ASN).
The upcoming edition ensures that it will highlight the talents of future racing enthusiasts providing an all encompassing stage, for the worldwide motorsport community.
