In the months of 2024 distressing news has shaken the video game and online entertainment sector with several major players experiencing workforce reductions following a trend set by companies like Riot and Twitch.

Around 1,900 employees have received disheartening news causing disruption for families. Adding complexity to this situation is the way in which layoff notifications were staggered.
