In a move that will greatly impact the esports community, Ubisoft has revealed an exciting and strategic partnership with GRID Esports, a leading game data platform. This collaboration aims to enhance the Rainbow Six (R6) esports experience by offering fans access to detailed in-game statistics and data.

GRID Esports will take on the responsibility of managing the distribution of official BLAST R6 data assets, starting with the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta. This means that fans can expect coverage of international and regional Rainbow Six tournaments like the BLAST Majors and Six Invitationals. This partnership is a step in integrating data-driven solutions into the Rainbow Six Esports competitions.

GRID and Ubisoft will work closely together to explore opportunities for improving engagement, refining broadcasts, enhancing player coaching methods, and ensuring fair competition. GRID will have access to data assets such as in-depth insights into players, teams, and matchups. These insights will be constantly updated during events. Both companies have established a data infrastructure and developed APIs that allow for direct sourcing of data from esports game servers.

Francois Tallec, Ubisoft’s Vice President of Brand and Transmedia Partnerships, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, saying that they are thrilled to partner with GRID and share an understanding of the potential of esports data. This partnership opens up opportunities to engage fans and drive innovation across the board.

GRID Esports, renowned for its collaborations with industry giants like Riot Games (where they jointly launched the Valorant Data Portal), sees this partnership as a chance to contribute to the legacy of Rainbow Six Siege. Moritz Maurer, CEO and Founder of GRID Esports, shared his enthusiasm by stating,

โ€œThe legacy of Rainbow Six Siege is a great foundation to build upon and we are excited to make esports game data part of this incredible ecosystem.โ€

The end of 2022 marked advancements in the Rainbow Six Siege esports landscape as organizer BLAST partnered with Ubisoft for its events.
