In a move aimed at promoting innovation and long term expansion the Global Esports Federation (GEF) is undergoing a transformation, in its executive team. Under the guidance of CEO Paul J. Foster, the organization is set to modernize its structure with the introduction of the GEF 5.0 strategy for the 2024 2028 period.
As part of the revitalization process GEF CEO Paul J. Foster has established the Senior Executive Team (SET) to oversee areas. Heading the Executive Office Division is Rustam Aghasiyev, who serves as Head of Human Resources while Mark Chay leads the Commercial and Administration department as Development Director. Mario Cilenti takes charge of Operations as Director of Operations. Works alongside Eric F. Brinkley recently promoted to Executive Director of Programs and Content.
With expectations for growth in esports over the four years GEF is positioning itself to meet evolving demands within the esports community. The upcoming challenges, including plans for organizing the Esports Olympics in 2026 highlight the importance of these strategic changes.

In addition to organizing events GEF collaborates with strategic partners on Global Social Impact Initiatives (GSII) aimed at fostering positive social change.
The potential organization of the Esports Olympic Games poses a challenge for GEF. As communications intensify between the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Japanese authorities the organization prepares for an event. The success of the Olympic Week of Esports held in Singapore in 2023 demonstrated the global significance of esports attracting over 500,000 participants and generating six million views.
